Ben Browning has signed a worldwide Co-Publishing Agreement with Angry Mob Music as he launches into his solo career. Ben is a singer and songwriter who has been a long time member of Cut Copy. His self-produced debut solo album Turns was released on Yellow Year Records and was met with critical praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, and the New York Times.
“The tempo, lyrics, album and track titles — everything about Turns signifies a turning point for Browning,” writes Consequence of Sound. His work is an FM synthesis of colorful influences including early techno pioneers YMO and current Scandinavian artists Lindstrøm and Todd Terje.
Under the agreement, Angry Mob Music will co-publish Ben’s current solo catalog along with future co-publishing rights.
“Ben’s musical contribution to Cut Copy is well recognized and we were extremely thrilled with the opportunity to work closely with him,” says Marc Caruso, CEO of Angry Mob Music. “We look forward to a vibrant relationship where we can support Ben as he continues to evolve as a remarkable songwriting and producing talent.”
